Welcome to the Milford Police Department in Milford, Delaware. Though proud of our historic traditions, the Milford Police Department maintains an unprecedented positive vision about the future and believes that our pro-active approach to policing helps keep crime down as well as efficient use of taxpayer dollars. Every member of the Milford Police Department shares several common responsibilities. Preservation of law and order within our community, the safety and welfare of our citizens and the preservation of the quality of life we have all come to enjoy and treasure. Automobile crashes are the leading cause of death and injury to teens in the State of Delaware and unfortunately it is the leading cause of death and injury to Milford teens. We are pleased to announce a new aggressive and pro-active initiative to reduce the number of teenage crashes within our community. The “Collision Avoidance Training” program has proven extremely effective in other communities and will be the centerpiece of our initiative. The leading cause of teenage crashes is due to inexperience and this training program does an exceptional job providing teens with life saving skills they will use all their life. As parents we spend hundreds of dollars every year for tutors and saved diligently for our kids college education but, little or nothing is spent on some of the most important lessons in your child's life. . . Learning to Drive.
